Construction and BIM

The utilization of drones in construction means significant changes within the industry. Drones have been changing the way the construction industry operates, and those changes will have continued and lasting effects. Some of the changes in the construction industry are:

  • Drones are able to collect and report actionable data from the jobsite with a faster more accurate rate of return compared to written reports from the ground.
  • Imagery can be collected from an aerial perspective that creates a overall synapsis of what is happening in jobsite progress.
  • Drones can improve asset and material management. Quantities of materials can be inventoried at a glance to ensure materials are there when you need them.
  • Our drone imagery can help minimize the need for reworking errors before they become a bigger problem.
  • Improve safety of the job site by performing inspections of dangerous areas without putting people at risk.

By creating geolocated images that we import into survey and mapping software we can create digital 3D models of the job site. This 3D modeling can help owners visualize the project in virtual reality format. An owner or manager can “walk thru” the jobsitewithout ever having to visit the site. With the addition of (GCP’s) ground control points the accuracy of 3D modeling can be increased to centimeter survey grade accuracy.
